• Why should you choose to adopt with us? Five reasons to adopt with Family Care your Regional Voluntary Adoption Agency

Family Care is a Specialist Voluntary Adoption Agency Based in Belfast.

We have been helping families to adopt since we first opened in Belfast in 1969, and now provide Adoption and Post Adoption services throughout Northern Ireland.

We are always looking to recruit more adopters and would love to hear from you.

The children we place are usually single children and sibling groups aged between 6 months & 6 years.

There is no fee for an adoption assessment and you will be entitled to adoption leave and adoption pay once children are placed for adoption with you.

How can we help you?

Prospective Adopters

There are children waiting to be adopted in Northern Ireland right now. They need the love and attention of a committed family, and new parents who are fit and healthy and full of life.

Adopted People

If you are an Adopted Adult aged at least 18 years, you have the legal right to access information about yourself before you were adopted.

Post Adoption Support

Almost all children placed for adoption in Northern Ireland have had to be parted from both their birth family and later from foster carers, in order to be matched with you and into their new family.

Concurrent Caring

Concurrent Care is a particular type of fostering where babies and young children are placed with carers while intensive work is carried out by Trust social workers with the birth parents over an agreed period.

Birth Families

If you are a birth parent whose child was adopted in the past, Family Care Adoption Services can offer you a supportive service.
